A boycott from the English teams (Vanwall and BRM), due to changes of rules, mainly about of the fuel adopted, caused the Argentine GP to have a very reduced grid, and it was in doubt if the race would be valid to the World Championship of Drivers. The Scuderia Centro Sud cars, planned for Behra and Mieres, only arrived some time after the GP and only participated in the Formula Libre race at the beginning of February. Behra ended up using Kavanagh’s car to participate in the race. Ferrari also provided a fourth car for Von Trips who only arrived for the FL race as well. With all these problems, the only confirmed entries are these 10 who actually participated in the Grand Prix.
